Therapeutic Approaches

The techniques and modalities used are tailored to each client’s specific needs and include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • A mindfulness-based, evidence-based approach that helps individuals cultivate psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions, clarify personal values, and commit to meaningful action. Rather than eliminating distress, ACT empowers clients to develop a healthier relationship with their internal experiences while moving toward a more purposeful and values-driven life.

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a brief, evidence-based psychotherapy designed to help individuals quickly resolve traumatic memories, distressing experiences, and unwanted emotional patterns. Using a structured approach that incorporates eye movements and imagery rescripting. ART helps the brain process and reframe traumatic events safely, reducing the intensity of distressing emotions and physical sensations associated with them.

Note: Due to insurance limitations on session time and coverage, ART sessions are offered on a cash-pay basis only.

  • A well-established, evidence-based treatment that focuses on identifying and reshaping unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. By exploring the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions, CBT helps individuals develop more adaptive coping strategies, reduce psychological distress, and improve functioning in daily life. It is widely used to treat anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health concerns.

  • A structured intervention designed to help individuals improve their ability to express themselves clearly, listen effectively, set boundaries, and navigate interpersonal relationships with greater confidence and empathy. This approach integrates assertiveness training, active listening, and emotional expression to support healthier, more effective communication in both personal and professional settings.

  • An integrative, evidence-based approach that helps individuals develop self-compassion and emotional resilience, particularly in the context of shame, self-criticism, and trauma. Drawing on principles from evolutionary psychology, neuroscience, and mindfulness, CFT supports clients in cultivating compassion toward themselves and others as a means of promoting psychological healing and well-being.

  • An evidence-based, integrative psychotherapy approach designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements—to facilitate the brain’s natural ability to reprocess distressing memories, reduce emotional intensity, and promote adaptive resolution. It is recognized as an effective treatment for PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related conditions.

  • Integrates spiritual and psychological principles to support clients in exploring emotional and relational challenges through the lens of their personal faith. This approach honors the individual’s beliefs and values, drawing on spiritual resources to promote healing, resilience, and meaning-making within the therapeutic process. It is offered in a respectful, client-centered manner, tailored to each person’s unique spiritual background.

  • An evidence-based program that combines mindfulness meditation, gentle movement, and present-moment awareness to help individuals manage stress, anxiety, and physical or emotional discomfort. Fosters greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience by teaching clients to respond to life’s challenges with clarity and compassion.

  • An integrative approach that bridges neuroscience and psychological therapy to address the impact of brain function on emotions, behavior, and relationships. Grounded in the understanding of how the brain changes through experience, this method emphasizes safety, attachment, and regulation to support healing from trauma, anxiety, and other psychological concerns. It aligns therapeutic interventions with the brain’s natural capacity for growth and adaptation.

  • A depth-oriented approach that explores how unconscious processes, early life experiences, and relational patterns influence current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By fostering insight and self-awareness, this therapy helps individuals understand the root causes of emotional distress and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. It is particularly effective for addressing long-standing patterns, attachment issues, and identity development.

  • Involves providing clients with clear, accurate information and education about mental health conditions, emotional processes, and coping strategies. This approach empowers individuals by enhancing their understanding of symptoms, treatment options, and self-management techniques, thereby fostering greater engagement, insight, and collaboration in the therapeutic process.

  • A compassionate and holistic approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma on an individual’s physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. This therapy prioritizes safety, trust, empowerment, and collaboration, creating a supportive environment that respects each client’s unique experiences. Trauma-informed care integrates an understanding of trauma’s effects into all aspects of treatment to promote healing and resilience.
